She Recites
The SheRecites Podcast is here! Join Jumana Moon and Anjum Kasmani as they meet with traditional female scholars, Quran reciters, devotional singers, poets, storytellers, drummers and more. The aim of this podcast is to archive the stories of amazing women working hard in the female Islamic devotional space, whose stories are often not known or heard about. This project hopes to inspire many women around the world to continue to have spiritual aspirations through hearing the stories of others who are walking in the same path, whether that be in a female only space or mixed. We hope to inspire new generations to also see such women as positive role models inshaAllah.

In this episode, Jumana Moon sits down with accomplished Theologian and Scholar Shaykha Halima Krausen
This is truly a fascinating discussion and you’ll be left feeling enlightened learning about the rustic and very real journey of a female seeker and Muslim scholar before the days of social media and mass travel on dowrahs, rihlas etc.
What was it like for a European convert & seeker of knowledge in the 1980s to travel to Cairo, Sudan and Pakistan? How was she recieved from the male scholars? What are Shaykha Halima's thoughts on the Muslim community in terms of access to knowledge, theology, feminism, and more!
....and if you know anything about Muslim personalities in history, you will find Shaykha Halima's answer to our wild card question an absolute cracker!!!
