She Recites #007 - "Poetry is a means for us to go on deeper spiritual journeys"
This is part two of our two part podcast with Sukina Pilgrim.
Sukina Pilgrim is a Poet, Spoken-Word artist, Playwright, Workshop Facilitator and co-founder of Muslim female Hip Hop duo, Poetic Pilgrimage, from Bristol, UK.
In 2017 she delivered a Tedx Talk on the healing potential of poetry. Sukina holds a she holds a BA (Hons) Degree in English Literature and Caribbean Studies and is currently pursuing an MSc in Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes.
Sukina has also been appointed a muqadimah of the Tijani Tariqah and has a deep connection to Madinah Bay, a hub of spirituality in Senegal, West Africa, where she makes regular visits.

I am so glad to hear about the research being done in this field. Poetry has been an integral part of my healing and I’ve since hoped that many others can benefit, too.
