She Recites
The SheRecites Podcast is here! Join Jumana Moon and Anjum Kasmani as they meet with traditional female scholars, Quran reciters, devotional singers, poets, storytellers, drummers and more. The aim of this podcast is to archive the stories of amazing women working hard in the female Islamic devotional space, whose stories are often not known or heard about. This project hopes to inspire many women around the world to continue to have spiritual aspirations through hearing the stories of others who are walking in the same path, whether that be in a female only space or mixed. We hope to inspire new generations to also see such women as positive role models inshaAllah.

Quote of the podcast: " Organising is service. It sounds like you have a great title, people think they are the head or the leader, but in reality it is servitude. As Muhammad Ali said, "Service to others is how you pay your rent in this world." It's about service to people. Every person who comes to the event, online or offline, you want to make sure that they are comfortable and they feel well and are looked after." - Sakinah Le Noir co-founder of The Rabbani Project

Quote of the Pod: "I was pushed to the edge and Allah Pulled me back. But it wasn't until I was pushed to the edge that I found Allah. It is important in your journey, regardless of who you are now, or what your status is, that you honour the person who you were. It keeps you grounded."

Quote of the Pod: "We don't see Qur'an competitions as competitions. This would be against the Qur'an. Rather, we recite to inspire others so they want to learn how to recite as well. We recite so others are keen to listen as well. It is competitively friendly. Every participant wants to recite the best ot be successful alongside other participants. We help each other."
